Ultimate old school 911
Posted on Sep 26, 2009 7:04:51 PM by Richard in porsche, 911, restomod |
Singer Vehicle Design rolled out its first prototype, plainly named the "Singer 911," at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance last month. Based on an '80s-era long-wheelbase 911 donor vehicle, the company strips each chassis to its bare shell for "reinvention" into what Singer calls a "celebration of the golden air-cooled era of the world's most important sports car."Read more... |

Really fast old mazda
Posted on May 17, 2009 6:47:26 PM by Richard in Mazda, rx7, v8, turbo, sleeper |
People are always doing something crazy and incredible with their rides. Sometimes it is a combination of both. While we don’t think making 1650HP from a 427HP engine is necessarily crazy, I do think that driving that same engine/vehicle around on the street like its a Honda Civic is another thing entirely. The ability to tame an engine that makes that much power calmly idling and staying cool at street lights is amazing. Major props to Nelson and the incedible engineering behind this cool ride. I still can’t believe that this incredible engine got stuck inside an old hoopty Mazda.Read more... |

Toyota IQ to debut as SCION in the U.S.?
Posted on Apr 2, 2009 4:02:26 AM by Gerren in SCION, IQ, SCIONIQ, Toyota |
I have been saying this since the Toyota IQ debuted as a concept over a year ago. It just made TO MUCH sense not to, and I will be pissed off if they don't do this. Everything about the vehicle says SCION. Its small, cheap, quirky, hip, and has tons of aftermarket potential. This will definitely bring some much needed excitement to the SCION brand. Debuting as a concept at the NYIAS next week, lets hope they release it as is. Widebody kit, LED lights and everything!Read more... |

Mercedes unleashes 2010 E63 AMG
Posted on Apr 1, 2009 6:06:14 AM by Gerren in E-Class, Mercedes-Benz, AMG, E63 AMG |
And yet another vehicle I will be reviewing when I hit the New York International Auto Show in two weeks. One of the most popular AMG models has finally received it's full redesign. The brutally powerful 6.2L V8 is carried over, but with a slight horsepower bump to 518hp (up 11hp) and 465 lb-ft of torque. The biggest update however is the all new Speedshift 7-speed MCT transmission, borrowed from the SL63 AMG. It boast four driving modes, Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport Plus, and Manual, with the latter capable of performing shifts in 100 milliseconds. Because of these improvements, it will take just 4.4 seconds to reach 60 mph (and to a 186mph top speed with an optional package, 155mph without) while cutting fuel consumption by a whopping 12%.Read more... |

In a couple weeks I will be attending the New York International Auto Show where Acura will be debuting their BMW X6 competitor called ZDX. Tesla unveils 300 mile range Model S Electric Sedan

The overall shape of this new sedan is curvacious. Similar design details can be found in Jaguar's latest offerings as well as Aston Martin. And that is never a bad thing. On the inside, you will not find a button in site as the dashboard and instrument cluster are touchscreen monitors. This gives the driver the ability to customize the dashboard to their liking. A unique 7 seat configuration is also available (5 adult and 2 rear facing child seats). |

Not all electric cars have to look as quirky as a Prius. Tesla Motors has just unveiled a more practical all electric vehicle with the 7 passenger Model S. This super sexy electric sedan can go 300 miles on a single charge, with the capabilities to double that within a year or two. Tesla claims that charge time takes 45 minutes. For those who do not have the time to wait for a full charge, Tesla is currently working with government affiliated organizations that are in the process of building EV (Electric Vehicle) battery changing stations. Within 5 minutes, you can have a new fully charged battery. ANd best of all, performance is not jeoprodized. This all electric vehicle can go to 60mph in less than six seconds. Thats the equivalent to a Porsche Cayman or a 300+ horsepower sedan, which is more than enough power for everyday driving.
